August 25 – December 15: Experiential Introduction to AI and Ecology (Part 1)

Location: Virtual (mostly synchronous via Zoom)
An interdisciplinary course introducing participants to AI and machine learning techniques in ecology and biodiversity research. The course combines computational methods with real-world scientific challenges and runs weekly from late August through December.
October 19–23: Generative AI in Your Research
Hosted by: Translational Data Analytics Institute
Dates: October 19–23, 3–5 p.m. daily
Location: Pomerene Hall, Room 350 (Project Zone)
A five-day, hands-on workshop series for researchers interested in applying generative AI to scholarly work. Topics include large language models, prompt engineering, ethical and security considerations, document processing and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). Participants will work in Python environments to build a tool that supports literature reviews and helps summarize articles, identify connections across papers and uncover research themes. Registration is $260 per person or $130 for students.
October 24–25: Hack OHI/O 2026

Dates: October 24–25 (satellite location at Ohio State Marion on October 24, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.)
Location: Ohio State University
Ohio State’s annual hackathon invites college students from all majors and experience levels to collaborate on innovative projects, develop new skills and tackle real-world challenges. Participants can use AI to help develop applications and explore new ideas. Participation is free, making this a useful example of hands-on AI experimentation and student innovation.
October 27: Supporting Student Development of AI Fluency

Location: Registration through Ohio State
A follow-up AI Fluency workshop focused on practical strategies for helping students develop responsible and effective AI-use skills. The October 27 session is separately listed on Ohio State's AI Fluency calendar.

Fisher College of Business Executive Education offers several programs focused on artificial intelligence. These programs address the capabilities of artificial intelligence, specific processes that can be optimized with AI, and how to responsibly implement it across functions at your organization. Several programs are offered on an ongoing basis. Cost varies.
